Tosca

1st November, 2015

In honour of Bryn's 50th birthday, the Wales Millennium Centre and Welsh National Opera are co-presenting a semi-staged performance of Puccini's opera Tosca tonight in the Donald Gordon Theatre at the Wales Millennium Centre, starring Bryn in the role of the evil Chief of Police, Scarpia.

It is particularly fitting that the two organisations are hosting the event as Bryn made his professional operatic debut with WNO in 1990 and in 2005 he played a major part in the opening celebrations of the Wales Millennium Centre.

Bryn will be joined by a truly international cast with Spanish soprano Ainhoa Arteta singing the title role of Floria Tosca, Romanian tenor Teodor IIincăi as the ill-fated artist Cavaradossi, Polish baritone Lukasz Karauda as Sciarrone and Jailer and Welsh tenor Alun Rhys Jenkins as Spoletta. The orchestra of Welsh National Opera will be conducted by Gareth Jones and the chorus will be made up of Only Kids Aloud and the Chorus of Welsh National Opera.
