ENO's Harewood Artists!

12th February, 2016

We’re delighted to announce that Icelandic bass-baritone Andri Björn Róbertsson will be joining English National Opera’s celebrated Harewood Artists next season and will make his début with the company in the autumn.
"Becoming part of such a prestigious company as ENO as one of their Harewood Artists, is such a great honour and I am very much looking forward to commencing my work there in the autumn. I literally cannot wait!"

Andri studied at the Royal Academy of Music and the National Opera Studio in London. Last summer he completed a year as a member of the International Opera Studio in Zurich, where his many roles included Sprecher in the main house production of Die Zauberflöte. He has returned to Zurich Opera this season as a guest to perform roles in Purcell’s King Arthur and also to reprise his role as Sprecher in Die Zauberflöte.

In 2014, Andri was named as an HSBC Laureate of the Académie, Festival d’Aix en Provence (an honour which is awarded annually to the Académie’s most promising talents) following his engagement as Bass in Trauernacht – a beautiful staged production based on J.S. Bach’s sacred cantata. The production has since toured to Paris, Amsterdam, Valence, Arras, and Lisbon. Andri will also make his début for the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in 2018.
