First for Glyndebourne

Welsh tenor Alun Rhys-Jenkins performs the role of matchmaker, Goro in Glyndebourne's first ever production of Madama Butterfly this Season. 

Alun Rhys-Jenkins has established himself as a tenor singing the well-known character roles. Recent engagements include his return to English National Opera as Goro in Anthony Minghella's Olivier Award-winning production of Madama Butterfly and Spoletta in a concert performance of Tosca as part of Bryn Terfel's 50th birthday celebrations at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff. 

This season, Alun joins Glyndebourne's brand new and irresistibly exotic production of Madama Butterfly which tours to the following venues:
